Things that are heavy (in no particular order):
BBB chief taster Oliver* after a particularly-intense product-development session.
The larger dumbbells in the weights room at The Thames Club, but NOT my brother (he ain’t heavy).
The Flying Scotsman.
You get the idea.
Then there’s our weekly avocado delivery at the Breakfast by Bella Deli.
Weighty? Talk about an understatement . . .
So far in 2018, we’ve gone through several million avocados** and we’re beginning to fear for our supplier’s fragile back.
There’s even talk here that hauling avocado crates from his van to our kitchen might soon start to count as a fitness class in its own right (we’ve patented avofit, just in case).
The point we’re trying to make is that our deli regulars LOVE their avocados . . .
So much so that it’s becoming harder and harder (and harder still) to keep up with demand.
Not that we’re complaining . . .
Far from it, in fact, for as long as our customers continue to demand it, we’ll continue to provide our best-selling avocado on toast (served on super-duper sour dough and topped with extra virgin olive oil and a sprinkle of Cornish sea salt, black pepper and chilli flakes).
In immense quantities . . .
What can we say? BBB deli-goers have GREAT taste!
So to that daunting delivery, which looking at the boxes that are being stacked up outside might be even heavier than those aforementioned London buses, hippopotamuses and, quite possibly, Oliver***.
Perhaps we should lend a hand . . .
Let’s just call it avofit!
* With apologies to Oliver.
** We’re sometimes prone to slight exaggeration.
*** With further apologies to Oliver.
